Review; Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick

To start, the packaging on this lipstick is absolutely adorable! It looks very chic and I love the Kate signature. Well, I may or may not have a slight obsession with Kate Moss so my opinion on this lipstick could be slightly biased. This is a very matte formula which is something I wouldn't normally see myself liking but because it's such a bright shade i think that the matte is good because it doesn't take any attention away from the lipstick.
As for pros and cons there are definitely a few.

Pros: The color is absolutely gorgeous, the packaging, it's reallyy pigmented, the smell may put some of you off because it is very strong but to me it smells good! (sort of like a tangerine-ish fruity smell)                                              Cons: If you have already dry lips they might just end up looking like the Sahara once you put this on and along with that it doesn't feel very good on the lips at all.

Rated out of 10 I would give this 7/10

Thank you for reading my blog<3 I hope I answered any questions you may have had! See you next time

Review; Chanel Vitalumiere Moisture Rich Foundation

                                                                                Chanel Vitalumiere $55
Please excuse the foundation all over the pump

Lately I've been trying a TON of new makeup/beauty products and to be honest I've loved all of them! The product I'm going to be reviewing today is the Chanel Vitalumiere foundation(I have the shade 35 Soft Bisque which is a shade or two too dark but oh well). I'll do a full review, a pros and cons list, and I'll also give an overall rating and tell you who I would recommend this foundation to. I surprisingly haven't heard very much hype about this product which i definitely think it deserves. Now, on to what the foundation claims to do vs. what it does. On the bottle it says that it is a moisture rich radiance sunscreen fluid makeup. As for living up to what it says I can definitely say that it makes my dry skin look perfectly radiant! It's without a doubt a dewy finish foundation (which is what I tend to go for) so if you have oily skin I would recommend that you STAY AWAY from this foundation. It is a light coverage but you can build it to be medium without looking cakey at all. The consistency is very runny and watery which I don't mind because I find that that is one of the factors that helps it not cling to the extremely dry patches on my skin. I apply this with my beauty blender and I think it's a perfect combination and if you want this but have acne or acne scarring or anything you want to cover using the beauty blender does provide more coverage. If you are extremely sensitive to scented foundations this might put you off because I have to admit it has a strong peachy/foundationy smell that most Chanel foundations do.

Pros; For my dry skin this is the perfect foundation and the first I've found(out of many, believe me) that doesn't cling to my dry patches and make my skin look flakey and cakey(who doesn't love a little rhyme once in a while). It also helps to moisturize my face throughout the entire day and feels like I'm not even wearing anything at all! The lasting power for this is very good for a dewy foundation. I'd say it lasts about 6-7 hours without me having to touch it up at all(I set this with either my Korres Wild Rose Powder or my Bare Minerals mineral veil). Even if you do have very dry skin like myself I would still tell you to set this because it can look oily sometimes when left on it's own and don't worry you dewy foundation-lovers the glow doesn't go anywhere! The coverage is also a pro for me because although I do like full coverage foundations this manages to be light it still completely evens out my skin and slightly covers blemishes and I can still see my skin underneath! It's an extremely blendable foundation and even though mine isn't exactly the right shade I can easily make it work.
Cons; The first and most important con for me is the price. At $55 this is a veryyy pricey foundation which can be expected from anything Chanel. The packaging is a con for me also. Although it looks beautiful and luxurious which is good the cap doesn't stay on(thank god it has a pump) which makes it basically impossible to travel with. Also, it's a relatively large glass bottle which I find to be really inconvenient. As seen above when you try to pump out the product it's such a runny consistency that if you try to pump it most of it goes running down the bottle which is super annoying.

Overall this is my favorite foundation that I've EVER tried and if you have dry skin this might just be your new holy grail foundation like me! And again if you have oily skin this product will definitely not last on you and I would not recommend getting it but instead if you were looking for a Chanel foundation that's more suitable for oily skins I would say Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua for light to medium coverage. Perfection Lumiere for medium to high coverage and for those of you who like very matte finishes and have really oily skin I'd recommend Mat Lumiere.

As a rating out of 10 i would give this a 9.5/10 just because of the packaging issues!

I hope that you enjoy this blog post and thank you for reading sorry about how lengthy it is! I really need to work on shutting up but I hope I answered any questions you might have. :) See you next time!

Makeup Basics; Winged eyeliner

For many of you who are starting out in makeup or just have trouble with winged liner in general I'm going to try to provide you with some tips that'll hopefully make that process of going from getting it all over your eye, face, or nose to getting  it perfectly much easier! Well first off, I know how cliché this is but really, practice does make perfect! You can't get better if you don't keep trying. Trust me, even all the best makeup artists started out where you are right now so no worries. My first tip is well, it technically isn't a tip but instead it's a product!

This eyeliner has a very unique shape as you can see and is made to fit into the contours of your hand. I personally have tried this eyeliner and think it's very good! the shape really does fit quite nicely into my hand and the tip is very precise! This does take some getting used to but what have we got to lose here because once you are used to it liquid liner won't be a problem anymore. The next tip I have for winged or cat-eye liner isn't liquid liner but something you may not be completely familiar with. Gel eyeliner!

Gel eyeliner is many professionals' secret weapon for getting a perfect winged liner. It gives an extremely precise line with an eyeliner pencil feeling. It's much more versatile and long-lasting than liquid liner is. Unless specified it should not be used on the waterline and/or tightline!

Another liquid eyeliner that's really good if you're a little less willing to try the curve or a gel eyeliner is the Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Liner. This is a felt tip eyeliner with quite a stiff tip which makes for easy and precise application, although it's not as easy as gel if you find that gel doesn't work for you then this could be a great alternative!

I hope that all of your winged liner troubles may be solved and that you enjoyed this blog post! Thank you for watching and talk to you guys soon! :)

My first blog post!

Well hello there! My name is Lexi and I love all things fashion and beauty. I'm 15. I live in New York. No, not in the city although it's my favorite place in the whole world. Since this is my first ever blogpost (YAY), I thought i would let you guys know some things about me in case any of you were interested (which you probably weren't). Here's a list of maybe somewhat intriguing things about myself, I'm an extremely picky eater, although I like to believe that I'm a rather adventurous person, I have a huge imagination, I'm very intense when it comes to things I care about and I won't stop trying until I accomplish whatever task I have set in my mind, I'm a total perfectionist, when it comes to some things I'm ridiculously organized, I get stressed out easily and like to know what's happening at all times, I plan things out for months and years ahead and if something in my life doesn't go right I feel completely lost, my dream is to be a fashion stylist for shows and photo-shoots(I've been completely passionate about this since I was 9), once I get a word or phrase in my head I can't stop saying it for weeks (or until I find a new one), I'm obsessed with rose scented things, and last but most definitely not least, I own more clothes shoes and beauty products than 15 normal humans combined(do not try this at home). I get a lot of my inspiration from Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, "Confessions of a Shopaholic", fashion magazines, Lisa Eldridge, anything Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, the obvious Coco Chanel, Cecilia Cassini, Kate Moss, Karlie Kloss, Gucci Westman, etc... I believe strongly that class is beauty. God can I ever stop talking? No.. but I suppose that's all I have to say besides the fact that you'll definitely be hearing more from me very soon ;) if you choose to come back of course.  I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you all for reading my blog, you're truly amazing.
